THE ACADEMIC WIND OCTET OF CARACAS
Was formed in February of 1979 by Venezuela's finest wind players. 
Its international credits include performances on many of the world's
most distinguished 

venues such as: The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, The Smithsonian Institution, The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. They have also performed in Spain, Italy, Uruguay, Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Curacao, El Salvador, Jamaica, Mexico and Suriname.
Its large repertoire includes original works by Hayden, Mozart, Beethoven, and many other celebrated composers. One of the Octet's special features is its unique interpretation of popular Latin American themes as well as Caribbean music with extraordinary arrangements done by the most highly regarded musicians from Latin America.
