Andre Carrasquero was born in Canada but lived in Caracas, Venezuela most of his life. He studied in US and was originally trained as a classical pianist, but Andrés always had a passion for Jazz, Brazilian, and Afro-Caribbean music. In 1983, after six years of teaching and touring as a classical pianist, he finally crossed over and |
began a career as a studio musician in Caracas that eventually led him to become a successful producer of CD albums, jingles, and music for documentary films. From 1990 to 1998, he also took part in all major Jazz Festivals in Venezuela as a bandleader with the "Solera Jazz Band", "Andres Carrasquero Trio" and shared stage with artists like Arturo Sandoval, Eddie Daniels, and Nestor Torres. He now lives in Vancouver and performs with his wife in their latin band and is currently preparing the material for his second solo album. |
