Biography

Gonzalo Micó

Gonzalo Micó is one of the top guitar virtuosos in Venezuela and, for many years, one of the few pillars of the Venezuelan Jazz scene.
He schooled under Profesor Joe Diorio and learned composition under Carl Schoroeder and graduated from the Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood, CA.
In his career he has performed with legendary musicians like James Moody, Claudio Roditi, Ted Shumate, Jim Ates and Longeneu Parsons.

He has recorded eight projects and participated in many other albums.
During his performances on festivals in the Caribbean area, he discovered the beautiful sounds of the Steel Pan and incorporated it to his performances and recordings. The Album Untitled Dreams was considered by critics as the Venezuelan Jazz Recording of the Year.
